Meeshapulimala of Malabar
Situated 2500 ft above sea level Nambikulam is one of the highest hill top in Kozhikode. The hill spread Katullamala / Thuruthumala is in Koorachund and Kottur panchayats of Kozhikode. 9 km via road from Balussery, to reach Kattullamala and from there 4 km off road drive to the top through a rocky steep road and voila, Nambikulam.
The hill range which separates Kozhikode plane from Wayand plateau is deciduous in nature and is an untouched region with lush greenery. Verdant with abundant vegetation this area is part of global biodiversity hotspot - Western Ghats and is home to many unique wild animals including Dusky palm squirrel, Rufous babbler etc. Kiliykalthode and Erapanthode streams originate from this hill.
